1. I will thoroughly prepare for all my sessions.
☑︎ If I am tasked to teach or conduct a class activity, I will make sure that I’ve adequately prepared beforehand and have had all my concerns and questions clarified by the TULA team prior to joining the class. I will be sure to join the link at least 10 minutes before the start of the class.
☑︎ Before I show my video, I will make sure to look presentable to both learners and adults. I will wear decent, smart casual clothing. I will make sure my hair is neatly fixed and not covering my face. I will make sure that my full face is clearly seen when my webcam is turned on and that my visible surroundings are clean, inoffensive, and not distracting.
☑︎ I have read, understood, and familiarized myself with TULA’s Online Safety and Security policy in handling online classes.
2. I will interact with TULA learners and other TULA members appropriately.
☑︎ I will never use language or behavior towards others that could be interpreted as inappropriate, harassing, abusive, sexually provocative, demeaning or culturally inappropriate.
☑︎ I will never use any form of technology to exploit or harass learners, or access child exploitation material through any medium.
☑︎ I will never engage learners, learners’ guardians, or interns under the age of 18, in any form of sexual activity.
☑︎ I will never make sexually suggestive comments, even as a joke.
☑︎ In the event of in-person sessions, I will avoid all unnecessary touching, including patting, holding, hugging, cuddling, fondling, or kissing learners, learners’ guardians, or interns under the age of 18 in an inappropriate and/or culturally insensitive way, or in a way that could be misinterpreted by another learner or adult.
☑︎ I will never encourage unaccompanied learners to meet with me outside of TULA classes or events, or invite them into private residences, unless they are an immediate risk of injury or in danger. (This does not include learners that have direct family relations to the member or partner.)
☑︎ I will never hire learners for domestic or other forms of labor. In doing so, I will be aware of behavior and avoid actions or behaviors that could be perceived by others as child exploitation and abuse.
3. I will treat learners and TULA team members fairly.
☑︎ I am committed to equity and inclusion and to respecting and accommodating diversity.
☑︎ I will therefore deal with each learner and TULA team member considerately and justly, rid of personal bias.
☑︎ I will hold each of them to the rules of TULA, which are:
i. Respect people. Be polite to other people and be understanding towards everyone.
ii. Respect authority. Listen to the coaches and follow their instructions.
iii. Respect property. Take care of your things.
4. I will respect our learners’ privacy.
☑︎ I will not take any class screenshots and class recordings without the informed consent of the TULA central team and ALL parents of learners in a class.
☑︎ I will ensure that pre-approved photographs and videos capture our learners in a dignified and respectful manner and not in a vulnerable or submissive manner, and that they are a real reflection of the context and facts.
☑︎ I will make sure that all external links and files used during the session and filled in with learners' personal information will be wiped clean after each session.
☑︎ I will not keep any learner’s personal information for my own use.
☑︎ I will not seek to make contact or respond to requests to communicate with learners outside of their TULA class. I will not exchange, add or ask for learners’ personal contact details (including social media accounts). When it is deemed necessary to communicate with a learner outside of class, all attempts of communication with the learner should be made through their parent or guardian and only after approval from a TULA master coach.
☑︎ I will not share anything that may reveal identifying personal information about a learner or parent (including, but not limited to, their full name, their school, the city in which they live, any contact details) outside the organization.
☑︎ I will make a concerted effort to keep the learners safe.
☑︎ I will always ensure that another learning coach or TULA staff member is also present when I am with the learners until I am given permission by the team to handle sessions on my own.
☑︎ I will always comply with all relevant Philippine legislation, including child labor and exploitation laws.
☑︎ I will immediately report concerns or allegations of child exploitation and abuse or bullying from adults or fellow minors, as well as policy non-compliance (from all TULA stakeholders) in accordance with appropriate procedures.
☑︎ I will immediately disclose all charges, convictions, and other outcomes of an offense that relates to child exploitation and abuse to TULA management.
6. I will be responsible for my words and actions online.
☑︎ I will not share any files or photos outside the lesson I’m observing or teaching outside of TULA.
☑︎ I will not share any TULA content with others outside of TULA.
☑︎ I will only share information that is true.
7. I will follow TULA norms and values as an applicant.
☑︎ I will be open to learning new things.
☑︎ I will ask questions when I don’t know the answer.
☑︎ I will never give up on myself.
☑︎ I will work with others.
☑︎ I will keep trying no matter what!
8. I understand that if I break any of these promises, the privilege to join TULA may be taken away from me.
