Learning Coach candidates will enter an intensive but flexible 5-week blended apprenticeship training program, covering high impact pedagogical techniques

👉🏼 Candidates will be asked to render no more than 9 hours of training per week (including all synchronous meetings, classes, and asynchronous assignments). Training will be tailor fit to their availability.

They will learn as they practice teaching and receive regular feedback from master learning coaches on the following learning coach roles:

👉🏼 BEING A MOTIVATOR

• Engage learners and get them excited to learn

• Encourage learners to try their best

👉🏼 BEING A STRONG AUTHORITY FIGURE

• Establish the right class culture

• Encourage positive behavior and respond to misbehavior

• Help learners gain better self control

👉🏼 BEING A GUIDE

• Communicate clearly with learners, particularly through instructions

• Ask questions to push student thinking

• Manage student interactions and collaboration

👉🏼 BEING A MENTOR

• Observe learners and track their progress

• Provide constructive feedback

• Mentor learners as they encounter issues

👉🏼 BEING A ROLE MODEL

• Demonstrate techniques learners should learn

• Embody and practice the TULA values

After the 5-week program, they will be given their own quarterly class assignments and opportunities to explore other pathways in our organization, all while receiving continuous professional development and mentorship.

👉🏼 After the initial training period, candidates will be able to choose their engagement hours freely. New class assignments will be given every 10 weeks. Depending on their performance, they will also be able to take on roles in content development, people management, marketing, operations, center leadership and many more.
